Welcome to another end-of-the-week check in where I share the things that brought me joy this week.
Joy List:
Currently Watching:
I’ve just finished watching New Amsterdam and I’m so sad it’s over. I always struggle when I finish a series that I binge watched and adored because it feels like a gaping hole is left in my life. I know that sounds dramatic but I do struggle with the transition between finishing something and starting the next thing. Whether that’s shifting from one task to another at work or finishing a book or TV series: it feels jarring to me.
So I haven’t decided what to watch next as I still feel a bit emotionally hungover from finishing New Amsterdam. Any recommendations for what I should watch?

Do No Harm by Jack Jordan
I finished this book last night and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story follows a doctor who is forced to choose between the life of her son or killing an important patient during surgery. I won’t give any spoilers away but if you like twisty thrillers packed with suspense then you’ll love this.
My son has been taken. And I’ve been given a choice…
Kill a patient on the operating table. Or never see him again.
The man lies on the table in front of me.
As a surgeon, it’s my job to save him.
As a mother, I know I must kill him.
You might think that I’m a monster.
But there really is only one choice.
I must get away with murder.
Or I will never see my son again.
Currently listening to:
The Dead Fathers Club by Matt Haig
I’m about three quarters of the way through listening to this book and it’s ok but not my favourite from Matt Haig. It is written in the style of the protagonist who is an 11 year old boy so feels a little juvenile - maybe that is why I’m not enjoying it as much. However, it is still an easy read (or listen) and I’m interested to see how it ends.
Currently Loving:
In all honesty I’m struggling with this at the moment with everything happening in the world.

I watched New Amsterdam too! I binged it but I feel like the last season was rushed. There was so much left out and I felt disenchanted by how it ended. I feel like they could’ve ended it better, or at least slower
